Spring calendar revised with additional PLC days for teachers, days off for students

Students and teachers at Lewis-Palmer School District 38 will see an adjusted spring schedule after district leadership amended the 2021-2022 School Year calendar to slightly reduce contact days.

“It’s our mission to serve every student, every day, and also to support the employees who help elevate our students through dedication, hard work and meaningful collaboration,” read a district communication. “As such, we’re grateful to be able to make a calendar shift for the spring semester that we hope will help support our educators with additional professional learning time, with the ultimate benefit for improved student learning.”

The adjustment to the calendar is as follows:

Current delayed starts (Pre-K through 12) will be converted to full-day PLC days:

Secondary schools will also adjust to match the Pre-K through 6th-grade calendar for the following days:

According to district leadership, a lack of need for severe weather cancellations allowed for the change, and it will ultimately not impact the required number of student contact hours by the State of Colorado.
