New application rolled out for educator loan forgiveness program in Colorado

A new state-created application may make it easier for teachers across the state to tap into the Colorado Educator Loan Forgiveness Program.

Educators across the field in areas of high need are encouraged to apply. The program, which is funded for five years, will allow educators in those areas of need, or in rural districts, to tap into up to $5,000 per year in loan forgiveness for that year.

Applications opened on Dec. 15, and while Lewis-Palmer School District 38 is not a rural district, district staff in the following areas are still encouraged to apply:

  • Special Education Deaf and Hard of Hearing

  • School Occupational Therapist
  • School Physical Therapist
  • School Psychologist
  • School Social Worker
  • School Speech-Language Pathologist
