Palmer Ridge’s Connor Jones earns All-American nod ahead of official signing with Michigan

Senior Palmer Ridge lineman Connor Jones is racking up accolades in his final year with the Bears. U.S. Army All-American Bowl officials recognized Jones on Tuesday with a roster spot and All-American Induction.

The prestigious U.S. Army All-American Bowl selects high school football stars from across the nation to compete in a bowl game each year. While the 2021 game was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, players were still selected to be honored.

As an All-American selection, Jones will still receive a jersey, an NFL combine workout led by former NFL coaches with the goal of producing highlight tape material, a crash course on the road to the NFL draft and more.

While Jones’ sights are set on the NFL draft, he’ll first attend the University of Michigan after he officially signs a committment to attend the university later this December.

“I’m looking forward to getting up and working,” said Jones in an interview with the Gazette. “Coach (Ed) Warinner up at Michigan projects me to be a three-year starter, which is going to be huge for me. I’m ready to get up there and get going.
